Kollwitz in the theater building

The new museum location at Charlottenburg Palace

The former theater building at Schoss Charlottenburg, built in 1787 according to the plans of the architect Carl Gotthard Langhans, is an excellent new location for the Käthe Kollwitz Museum. It offers the building development opportunities and eliminates structural deficits.

As one of three tenants, the museum uses the entire first floor from 2022. Two years later, the exhibition rooms will move to the first floor. The museum reopened to visitors with a new collection presentation in the fall of 2022. The permanent exhibition on the life and work of Käthe Kollwitz – “But yet it is art” – is open for your visit daily from 11 am to 6 pm.
